5B to 100B Particles/mL: Which Concentration Tier Your Program Needs

"High-concentration exosomes" is an empty claim on its own. Without cell source, purification method and functional activity stated, the number means nothing — a point EV researchers keep making. The number only means something inside a system. Here is the system.

The tier ladder

A documented raw-material line offers configurable tiers: 5 / 10 / 20 / 50 / 100 billion particles per mL. Different programs draw different doses from the same base:0 / 50 / 100 billion particles per mL** — because different programs draw different doses from the same base:

Program familyTypical tierWhy
Eye-area comfort formatsSingle-digit billionsUnit-dose volumes; the gentle end
Topical serums and mists5–20B per mLDaily-ritual dosing on the cosmetic track
Professional clinic material20–50B per mLProtocol-controlled administration
Injection-track programsUp to 100B per mLHighest tiers; professional use only

Two market anchors: research-grade standards sell at 100 µg per vial above 1 × 10¹⁰ particles; a registered clinical investigation of preservative-free eye drops ran 3.5 × 10⁹ particles/mL, four drops daily for four weeks. Dose–response exists — but it sits on a curve with an optimum, not a more-is-better line.

The three facts that make a count meaningful

A concentration number carries information only when three companions ride along: cell source (what the vesicles came from), purification method (how they were isolated, and what was removed), and functional or payload activity (what the material was checked to carry). Conditioned medium sold as exosomes fails all three — which is why the expert warning exists.

How to buy on tiers

Buy the tier your program's protocol calls for, with the three facts attached, on a COA that names its measurement method. A platform selling configurable tiers on one characterization baseline engineered the dose. One selling only a fixed "super-concentrated" SKU marketed it.
